Voluma® in Philadelphia, PA
Age-related volume loss affects a good number of our patients in Philadelphia, Bala Cynwyd, Bryn Mawr, and other nearby areas in Pennsylvania, Many of them turn to Main Line Plastic Surgery for Voluma®, a dermal filler specifically designed to plump the skin and provide a younger appearance to those affected by age-related volume loss. This procedure is performed by Dr. Raymond D. Jean, a board-certified cosmetic surgeon with a great deal of experience administering Voluma® and other dermal fillers.
What is Voluma®?
Voluma® by Juvederm® is an injectable gel that adds volume to the cheeks, mouth, and other areas of the face that may have become sunken or hollow due to aging. It not only plumps the skin but provides a lift to smooth facial wrinkles and reduce sagging.
Am I a Good Candidate for Voluma®?
Voluma® has been proven safe for most patients between the ages of 35 and 65. Please let us know if you have had an allergic reaction to any dermal filler in the past or have an allergy to any of the ingredients in Voluma®.
Planning your Voluma® Treatment
You should stop smoking and refrain from drinking alcohol or using aspirin and/or blood-thinning medications a week or so before your appointment. Other than that, there is no other pre-planning necessary.
How is Voluma® Performed?
Voluma® contains lidocaine (a numbing agent), so no anesthesia whatsoever is required. Dr. Jean will prepare a vial of the gel, injecting equal amounts into each side of your face to ensure symmetrical balance. Depending on the results you desire, Voluma® may be injected into more than one location on either side, for example in the cheeks and around the mouth.
How Much Does Voluma® Cost in Philadelphia?
Medical spa procedures such as Voluma® are highly customized, meaning that a number of variables are used to calculate the price. In addition to payment through cash, personal check, and major credit/debit cards, we also accept CareCredit® financing. CareCredit® works like a credit card, offering low-interest rates and easily affordable payments to help you afford Voluma® on your terms.
What to Expect* after Voluma®
You may notice some results immediately following your injection, but it typically requires around two weeks or so for benefits to become fully visible. That’s about how long it takes for any bruising or swelling to completely subside.
Recovering from Voluma®
Although you may notice some bruising and swelling, these symptoms should be rather mild, and therefore will not dramatically alter your appearance. Most people are easily able to hide their light bruises with makeup and find that over-the-counter medication quickly alleviates any swelling.
