Neck Lift in Philadelphia, PA
Sagging, wrinkled skin on your neck can age you just as quickly as facial wrinkles. Main Line Plastic Surgery, serving patients in Philadelphia, Bala Cynwyd, Bryn Mawr, and other nearby areas in Pennsylvania, offers neck lifts to those who would like to smooth this area or reduce jowls.
What is a Neck Lift?
A neck lift is a procedure that “raises” skin on the neck that is sagging due to a loss of elasticity. At the same time, it also reduces the appearance of jowls or a “turkey wattle.” Many of our Philadelphia-area patients choose a neck lift following a facelift or mini-facelift because they want the skin on their neck to match the new, younger-looking skin on their face.
Am I a Good Candidate for a Neck Lift?
Are you bothered by loose skin, wrinkles, or jowls on your neckline? If so, you may be a good candidate for a neck lift.
Planning your Neck Lift Surgery
Tell us about any other procedures you are considering, including a facelift. Many times, we can schedule these two surgeries at the same time in order to reduce the amount of downtime you experience. You may also need to stop smoking, using blood-thinning medications, and consuming alcohol for a week or two prior.
How is a Neck Lift Performed?
Dr. Jean uses a variety of techniques to perform the neck lift procedure. This includes a traditional neck lift in which excess skin and fat are trimmed away from the neck area, as well as the following:
Laser Neck Lift/PrecisionTX™
Using a 1440 nanometer wavelength laser, fat cells are reduced, and collagen production is stimulated. This tightens and firms the neck area over a period of three to six months as new collagen begins to grow. PrecisionTX® requires only a small incision just below the ear, which is so tiny that it does not even *require stitches afterwards.
Dr. Jean may recommend neck liposuction if you have a great deal of fat in your neck, as is often the case in those affected by a “turkey wattle.” Liposuction can be performed on its own to *reduce local fatty deposits or in conjunction with a traditional neck lift in which skin and other tissues are trimmed and tightened.
How Much Does a Neck Lift Cost in Philadelphia?
Plastic surgery procedures such as a neck lift are highly customized, meaning that a number of variables are used to calculate the price. In addition to payment through cash, personal check, and major credit/debit cards, we also accept CareCredit® financing. CareCredit® works like a credit card, offering low-interest rates and easily affordable payments to help you afford a neck lift on your terms.
What to Expect* after a Neck Lift
*You will notice results sooner following a traditional neck lift or neck liposuction. *Your benefits will be visible over time if you are having the PrecisionTX™ procedure performed.
Recovering from a Neck Lift
*There may be some light swelling or bruising associated with any of our neck lift procedures. This is typically rather mild, and can easily be controlled with hot/cold therapy or over-the-counter medication, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
