Lip augmentation is a surgery that involves placing implants in the lips to create a fuller, poutier look. This procedure smooths wrinkles and, at the same time, adds volume, restoring a more youthful appearance to your lips.
Augmentations are most often performed on the upper lip, but they may also be done on the lower lip or on both.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Lip Augmentation?
You might be a good candidate for a lip augmentation if you have noticed a loss in lip volume and are looking for a longer-lasting solution than a dermal filler can provide. You may also prefer a lip augmentation if you desire more pouty lips, as you can generally achieve rather dramatic results through this surgery.
Planning Your Lip Augmentation Surgery
Virtually no downtime is required following lip augmentation surgery, meaning that little pre-planning is needed. However, you should arrange to take a full day off from work to ensure there is plenty of time for your procedure and for the effects of the anesthesia to wear off.
How Is a Lip Augmentation Performed?
Dr. Jean will determine the best location for placing the implants based upon the look you desire. After providing you local anesthesia, he will then make a series of tiny incisions in your lips so the implants can be inserted directly underneath the skin. Your lips will then be sewn shut using very thin stitches that make them virtually undetectable.
What to Expect* after a Lip Augmentation
You will notice fuller lips and a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles right away. Many of our patients also report they no longer need to use dramatic makeup techniques to make their lips appear bigger.
Recovering from a Lip Augmentation
It can take some time before you are fully used to having an implant underneath your skin. Within a week or two, you will no longer notice it is there; the only thing you will see is more voluptuous, younger-looking lips.
