Breast Lift (Mastopexy) in Philadelphia, PA
For many women, sagging breasts are just as disheartening as a loss in chest volume. Ladies with a sagging bosom could benefit from a breast lift performed by Dr. Raymond D. Jean of Main Line Plastic Surgery, serving patients in Philadelphia, Bala Cynwyd, Bryn Mawr, and other nearby areas in Pennsylvania.
What is a Breast Lift?
A breast lift or mastopexy is a type of surgery that is similar to a facelift in that skin is pulled up, trimmed, and tightened. This has the effect of raising the breasts so that they no longer sag. It may be performed as a standalone procedure, or in conjunction with another breast enhancement procedure such as an augmentation.
Am I a Good Candidate for a Breast Lift?
You may want to consider a breast lift if you:
- Have noticed a significant loss of elasticity
- Find it difficult to hold your breasts up with underwire or support bras
- Notice a good deal of “bounce” when working out, yet do not have overly large breasts
- Are also considering an augmentation (adding implants only increases breast volume it does not lift them)
Planning your Breast Lift Surgery
Tell Dr. Jean if you are considering an augmentation, breast implant removal, breast reduction, or a similar procedure. A breast lift can often be performed at the same time as many other surgeries, in which case you would only need one appointment in our office.
How is a Breast Lift Performed?
During a mastopexy, excess skin is removed from the area just above the breasts. The remaining skin is pulled up and tightened, simultaneously lifting the bosom. A drainage tube is sometimes inserted just underneath the skin to prevent fluid from building up and causing an infection.
How Much Does a Breast Lift Cost in Philadelphia?
Plastic surgery procedures such as a breast lift are highly customized, meaning that a number of variables are used to calculate the price. In addition to payment through cash, personal check, and major credit/debit cards, we also accept CareCredit® financing. CareCredit® works like a credit card, offering low-interest rates and easily affordable payments to help you afford a breast lift on your terms.
What to Expect* after a Breast Lift
You will notice more uplifted breasts right away, and may even feel as though you have gained a cup size. Mastopexy surgery does not increase the size of the bosom, but can nonetheless make your chest appear larger because your breasts project outward more.
Recovering from a Breast Lift
*Avoid pulling, tugging, or lifting your arms over your head for a few days following surgery. After *about a week or so, you can begin lifting light weights, but do not overdo it until you are fully released by Dr. Jean.
